You may have noticed that this blog has been silent for a few days - that’s because we were too busy putting on Pop!Tech 2006 to blog Pop!Tech 2006.
Fortunately, and in particular due to our first ever live stream of the event, the blogosphere took care of that for us, better than we ever could:
- The inestimably smart Ethan Zuckerman did a heroic job blogging just about every part of the conference, in long-form prose that is beautifully written and incredibly accurate — the realtime synergy between this man’s brain and his fingers is absolutely astounding. Here are his posts on Brian Eno and Will Wright, Kevin Kelly, Marianne Weems, Hasan Elahi, Tom Friedman, Lester Brown, Stewart Brand, Bruce Sterling, Blaine Brownell, Alex Steffen, Juan Enriquez, The YesMen, Anthony Appiah, Tom Barnett, Martin Marty, Richard Dawkins, Micah Garen and Marie Helene Carleton, Erin McKean, Losang Rabgay, Wired’s Chris Anderson, Kent Anderson of AskaNinja.com, Serena Koenig, Neema Mgana, Zinhle Thabete, Clifford Ross, and Homaro Cantu. And be sure to read his terrifc (and we think, very accurate) roundup of the conference.
- Greg Lamb, of the Christian Science Monitor, beautifully captured not only sessions, but the flavor of the event. You can read all of his posts from the conference here, including “What Is Pop!Tech?”, “Living in Technology’s Cloud”, “Live Green Or Die”, “Who’s Wagging the Long Tail?”, “Dangerous Dialogue on Science and Religion”.
- Our friend Allan Chochinov over at Core77 not only posted roundups for each day over the conference (see Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3) but also illustrated them with terrific photographs, as befits a designer!
- Jason Kottke, he of kottke.org, also blogged much of the conference: check out his posts on Eno, Eno and Wright’s quotes, Tom Friedman, Day One Wrapup, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Onomy Labs’ Twisty Table, Juan Enriquez’ voting proposal for parents, Day Two Wrapup, Clifford Ross, and finally a Day Three Wrapup.
This just scratches the surface — there’s lots more to follow!
