Every October, five hundred of the world’s most provocative thinkers gather at Pop!Tech (www.poptech.org) for three days of visionary conversations about science, technology and the future of ideas. It’s a conference experience like no other - but one that has been limited to the relative few who get to participate in-person.

This year, on our 10th anniversary, we’re changing all that.

As our gift to the world, we’ve teamed with our friends at Yahoo! to provide free, live streaming video of the entire Pop!Tech 2006 conference to anyone with a broadband Internet connection. From October 19-21, 2006 from 9:00am to 6:30pm EST, anyone with such a connection to watch a live feed of the conference, powered by Yahoo!, at live.poptech.org - as well as submit questions to the speakers.

Check out the roster of speakers, which includes New York Times columnist and Pulitzer Prize-winner Thomas Friedman, game design god Will Wright, ambient music pioneer Brian Eno, global health visionary (and newly minted MacArthur Fellow) Victoria Hale, legendary geneticist Richard Dawkins, renowned environmentalist Lester Brown, Tibetan education pioneer Losang Ragbey, chef and gastronomic invetor Homaro Cantu, and dozens more - and that doesn’t even touch on the many incredible performers and unannounced special guests.

Stop by live.poptech.org to both register for a reminder email and to tell your friends. (And if you’ve got a blog, we’d really appreciate your help spreading the word.)

See you on the 19th!

Thank you for the live stream. I was in Camden in 2002, 2004 & 2006 for PopTech but I was not available to make the trip this year. I am on Miami Beach where it is 80 degrees, dry & sunny and on my balcony overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. My day has been spent watching your live stream & swimming in the ocean between sessions.

So I have the better of 2 worlds…the beautiful minds of PopTech & the beautiful bodies of South Beach. Who says we cannot have our cake & eat it too? Andrew, you are doing great with your commentary but cannot compete with the scenery wearing thongs & less on the beach…

At the end of this session I will do my 4-mile jog on the beach as the thoughts of the day swim in my head.

Happy 10th birthday PopTech!
