Ndiyo!

One of the biggest challenges facing developing countries is bridging the digital divide, particularly when it comes to having access to PCs.
Ndiyo (means “yes”in Swahili) is the name of a farily new project that is working to solve the digital divide problem in developing countries by developing a “thin client” desktop that draws about 5 watts of power (typical PC draws 100 watts). The think clients are not target for home users but in places that will be using networked PCs like cybercafes, schools and small businesses. A pilot project was recently launched in South Africa.
